Happy Birthday Rebekah!

Happy birthday to Rebekah and happy Saturday to everyone else! I've a little envelope book for you to try, to store little photos, tags, journaling or memorabilia.

So here goes: you will need 10 x money envelopes (6.5cm x 10 cm), cardstock weight double sided papers , like Basic Grey, Bo Bunny etc. Ribbons, hole punch, inks and stamps to decorate.

Cut a strip off a sheet of the pattern paper measuring 7cm. Measuring from the left score and fold at 8cm, 9cm, 21cm and 25cm.

Ink all edges and corner round the right hand corners.

Decorate the envelopes with some stamps and ink the edges - I have used a text stamp , but any background stamp will work. Tuck in the flaps or trim off if you prefer. Put a strip of double sided tape down the middle of each envelope and layer them up, making sure they all have the flap at the top.

Turn the strip of paper so you have the rounded corners at the top and stick the envelope stack in the section that measures 10cm. So you should have a flap of paper above and below the stack.
Fill each envelope with a tag, a photo measuring 6.5cm x 9.5cm. Decorate to suit your papers and photos.

You can now decorate the cover to match your photos, paper etc.. You can also use a magnetic snap or velcro dots to hold the mini book closed.

I hope you all have a great weekend blog hopping! Thanks for hopping onto my blog and I hope it has given you some ideas.

If your looking for more inspiration pop back to Rebekah's blog ; http://thehappyscrapperuk.blogspot.com/ I know there is plenty around this weekend. Thank you Rebekah for asking me to join in.

Wow how time goes so quickly!

It's been some time since I have posted anything on here but quite a bit has happened around here.

Scrapping wise the Caversham crop has been closed for the mean time as numbers were to low to care on, but on a positive note the crops in Earley have gone from strength to strength with classes being held every couple of months too. The classes are for new scrapbookers and for those who need a bit of inspiration and pushing out of their comfort zone! The next class will be in April and will include making some beautiful flowers.

This year looks as busy with plenty of crops in Reading, visiting crops in Stoke Poges and Bracknell / Crowthorne. Also plenty of All Day Crops - 11 hours of scrapping with lots of food and chocolate!

On a personal note this year will be hard as anyone knows who has lost someone close to them. We take each day as it comes and each challenge too.

I will be updating the blog with this years dates very soon along with a class for Rebekah's birthday blog. So keep checking back for some cyber birthday fun!

I have also been concentrating on losing weight and so far I've lost 1st. 7.5lb thanks to Slimming world, but hope to lose alot more by september. I will post pics soon but I usually don't like having my pic taken!

Cleo Crafts First Retreat.

What a fantastic weekend I had in Northern Ireland with some fanatastic ladies. Cleo Crafts organised a fun weekend of scrapping - well done girls for your first one! When's the next one?

Bridget and I were branded as "the rowdy ones" along with a few others! We had a good giggle and saw some beautiful countryside along the way. Louise and Tara certainly looked after us well and took us to see the sights aboard "Tara's Tours" on sunday visiting Giants Causeway and Carrick-a-Reed bridge.

Cover Girl!

Have you got the new copy of Scrapbook Inspirations?

Well have a look at the top of the cover and then look at page 62...... It's ME!

I submitted for the first time ever a layout of me & my Mum. The photo was taken by Nathan last summer in Portugal and usually our heads are missing in the photos but this one isn't too bad for a 5 year old!

When I got my sub copy today I was beaming from ear to ear and non- scrappers don't really understand my excitment but I'm sure the scrappers out there do.
Just wanted to share my joy of my first published layout!

Spring is coming!

Well it's March already, where has time gone?

The first All Day Crop of 2009 has been and gone and I think everyone had a good day.
Back to our usual Saturday crops this weekend in Caversham ( 7th March 10 - 3pm) and if you are interested in popping along to crop then just drop me a mail and I'll make sure there is a seat for you.
Some of the new stash has turned up but unfortunately some iss still hiding at manufacturers in USA. What has arrived has been drooled over, and bought by many at the last crop. We have new Bazzill cradstock - embossed, dotted swiss and new colours of standard cardstock. Everyone loved the American thickers, and the bargain Around The Block goodies too.

Mmmmmm..... yummy new stash!

Yummy new stash is now winging it's way to The Scrap Cafe. New papers ( 6 new lines), embosed cardstock, flowers, new sizzix dies - "Hello Kitty" - very cute.
Hopefully most of the new stock will be winging it's way to us over the next week, just in time for all to see at the next All Day Crop in Earley ( 28th February). As soon as I start getting the boxes I will take some pics and post them on here.
To book a space at one of our crops or to just pop in and shop just drop me an email and I'll let you know times, dates and venues.
More to come very soon.............
