Merry Christmas Everyone!

I Hope everyone is nearly ready for christmas, all the shopping done, christmas cards all written and posted?

We've had our christmas dinner early and Santa is making a special delivery on Christmas Eve so that the children can have their presents before we go away on Thursday.

I saw this version of Twas The Night Before Christmas on Ukscrappers and couldn't resist sharing it with you all.

Twas the night before christmas (scrappers version)

Author: Unkown

Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the home,
Only one creature was stirring,
A late night scrapper alone.

While she cropped and she trimmed,
Under her breath she was muttering,
"He hid my darn Hermafix",
The poor wife was stuttering!

When out on the lawn,
There arose such a clatter,
She sprang from her table,
And dropped her Magic Matter.

Away to the window
She flew like a flash
Thinking maybe it was UPS
Bringing more for her stash!

But what to her wandering eyes
Should appear
But a miniature (die cut) sleigh
And eight (punchie) reindeer!

With a little old driver
So lively and quick
She knew right away
It was Jolee old St Nick

He carried a sack
Filled up to the brim

With paper packs, cardstock
And templates crammed in.

There were Punches, and stickers
And eyelets galore
There was even a Sizzix font
Not yet in the stores!

He went quickly to work
Storing it all under the tree
The wire, the fibres
And all acid free!

"Those whale Punches are heavy"
She heard him exclaim
Then he turned to his reindeer
And called them by name:

"On Buyer and Stasher
Puncher and Cropper,
On Scrapper, on Matter,
On Trimmer, On Cutter"

And he sprang to his sleigh
But before he could leave,
The woman yelled "STOP",
And pulled a camera from her sleeve.

She snapped some quick photos
For future keepsake,
Thinking all the while,
Of the layout she'd make!

And she heard him exclaim,
When she finally let him go,
"Happy Scrapping to All"
And to all "HO HO HO"

All Scrap Cafe crop dates are now listed at the side of this post and to book a space email me : lorraine.bilsby@c2data.co.uk

December is here!

Well it's officially winter - it's cold and frosty and not long to christmas!!!! AHHHHHHHH!

Panic shopping starts now! Nathan's birthday is next week so party plans are in hand and birthday presents are nearly all bought. Need to find a shop that still sells birthday cards in december.

Anyway it's our last crop for 2008 this comming saturday in Caversham. So if you need some chill out time, no christmas shopping ( unless it's for another scrapper!), maybe a mince pie?! Or two? We will be at Church House, Caversham 10 -3pm. You can book online at http://www.thescrapcafe.co.uk/ or email me lorraine.bilsby@c2data.co.uk to reserve a space.

There will be the usual sketch challenge and a christmas layout challenge. So bring along a christmas photo or two, and some embellishments to take part.

If you can't make the crop then have a lovely christmas and I will see you all in the new year.

Dates for 2009 will be posted very soon with a few all day crops to put in your diary! So keep watching the blog for more info.....

Wow - what a crop!

Well I have just recovered from the biggest crop I have organised on my own - 40 eager scrappers!

I provided food, goody bags, and space to do what we all love - scrapbooking! I just wanted to say thank you to all of you ladies who have supported me this year and hopefully we will have many more great scrap days in 2009.

Dates for the next year will be confirmed very soon and I will let everyone know what dates to highlight in their diaries.

Beautiful Watergate Bay.

Well we've just returned from a great couple of family days in Newquay. 3 days of just family - no computer, phones, school etc... It doesn't happen often enough but it's great when it does.
We stopped on our way into Newquay in Watergate Bay for a bit of surfing for Dean and Charlotte and a bit of digging in the sand for Nathan.
We also treated ourselves to lunch at Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant - WOW and very yummy!
Now it's half term and I've got 2 kids to entertain ! Also a crop to organise for next saturday, can't believe it's nearly November already.

"In The Pink"

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so I thought this month's crop should be a bit different. Saturday 18th October our crop will be "In the Pink", so come along in pink!

Or maybe submit a layout in our challenge that's pink, with a bit of bling and have a heart in it somewhere for a samll charge that will go to Breast Cancer Awareness Charity. I will donate a prizefor the challenge and we will also hold a raffle on the day, again all money going to a very worthy charity.

I hope this crop will raise Breast Cancer Awareness and some money for a charity that is trying to find a cure and also suports many women and their families around the country.

Email me to book a space or book online at http://www.thescrapcafe.co.uk/ .

Welcome One and All!

Well here we are The Scrap Cafe blog. I hope this will keep everyone up to date with the goings on of The Scrap Cafe and Myself.

I have listed the crop booking and will update this reguarly. I'm in the process of booking next years crops and looking at booking a couple of 12 hour crops and maybe a mini retreat ion a country house...... Would you like a weekend away that doesn't cost a fortune and just scrap away to your hearts content?

Or maybe you'd like a weekend away in Holland? This year Faye and I went to Scrapaganza and WOW! We did lots of classes with some very talented designers and had a great time. We are hoping to go again next year ( beginning of June) and if you fancy coming along then drop me a line.

Well I think this is all the introduction needed to The Scrap Cafe blog. Keep popping back for more information about crops, events and hopefully pics of some of my layouts etc...
